We all heard of it before that “money can’t buy happiness”, but it is better to cry in a Lamborghini than on a bus, right!?.

Yet, too many people believe and think that acquiring material possessions and luxury gives you happiness…

Yet, it could be true or not, which will depend on each individual!

Now one thing I know for sure is that it might only bring us TEMPORARY happiness but not true fulfilled joy and that is because after we get whatever that material stuff might be that we most want in our lives, we seem to want something even better and therefore, we see that this is not it and things no longer make us happy.

But if you’re already a happy inner-being that doesn’t look for luxury to make you happy, then sure, it could make you even happier since you’re not relying on it but only adding to your experiences in life!

However, we should never take it for granted! If we rely on those for our own happiness, and if we were to lose it, we lose our happiness along with it as well! Yes, I’ve been there before, done that.. sucks!

What Are Material Possessions? – Luxury

It is basically physical liabilities things that we look to buy on a regular basis such as nice clothes, the newest iPhone, sports car, luxury boat, gold jewelry, a new house, new furniture, most recently launched cellphone, fancy dinner, etc – you name it.

Material possessions are luxury kinds of stuff that you spend your hardworking money on and expect to make you feel better or make your life better!

Sure, there is one thing that we’re missing out which is if causes an addiction?

And the answer is a big YES!

Believe it or not, there are many people who have this shopping craving habit that could be an unhealthy addiction if you don’t know how to control it.

I mean, I have seen people that as soon as they get some type of money, they go right into looking for things to shop and that’s even if they don’t even need it…

And the reason why is that they believe that luxury and material things will give them more pleasure, joy, and happiness to “fulfilled and complete their lives“!

Sure, it can give you temporary happiness but not true inner joy since that only comes from within, not from the outside world, and I’m going to tell you why!

Why Luxury and Material Things Give Temporary Happiness?

Well, the very first reason why possessions only give us temporary happiness is that they only last a very short amount of time!

That’s right, we all should be aware that nothing on this Earth is forever.

You might buy that expensive car today and maybe you can’t even afford it and sooner or later, you would have to get rid of it whether if it goes straight to debt collection since you can’t keep paying for it or you sell it because it no longer makes you “happy”. The same goes for clothes, the new iPhone, and all the material things as they all come and go!

Especially that expensive dinner, which only lasts for that single moment!

By the next day, you’ll probably feel overwhelmed to know that you spent a crazy amount of money on a special dinner that you could have saved up and invested in something that would make you more money than ever.

Therefore, these types of things give you temporary pleasure, not real happiness since it fades away after some time.

Not to mention, it’s like a cycle as the more material luxury things you tend to buy, the more you want to buy more kinds of stuff and that is because there will always be something recently launched that you also desire to buy.

Happiness is not about collecting material things or collecting beautiful memories. It’s about having a deep feeling of contentment.

Plus, most materialistic people are only trying to impress others, but not really themselves, which it would be shocking to know that people are not really impressed with what you got.

Sure, at that right moment, they might find it interesting, like it, be obsessed about it and all that, but that’s about it!

The last reason why material possessions may not make you truly happy is that the more you have, the more you have to spend to maintain, especially if that’s an expensive car or that big house that you bought.

Instead of Focusing on Buying Luxury, Buy This!

You know, I used to be a materialistic person several years ago and what I have to say is that it ONLY made me temporary happy at that exact moment, which the moment I no longer had any of that or as time went by, it completely fade it away and left me feeling worse than before buying the luxury pieces of stuff since I recognized that all I did was waste a lot of money based on my own experiences.

However, I am fortunate enough to have learned from both experience and knowledge! So what I have to say is that we shouldn’t focus on buying any material possessions especially if we’re looking to make ourselves happier.

Instead, I highly recommend that you do what I do now which is to invest that truly makes me happy!

And I’m not only saying investing into only business purposes to make more cash, sure that is one way but I’m also saying investing in yourself such as buying yourself new books to learn more, buying yourself a vacation with family and friends since memories last forever, and putting money to work for you.

That’s right!

But if you’re truly a materialistic person, then you MUST put all your money into investments that will make you more and more passive income flows, and that way, you will never be left out with zero money and you’ll also be able to buy all the material and luxury things that you desire along with having the financial freedom that you would want.

How does that sound?

YES, I would rather do that than spend all of my money on material possessions and not have any income flows coming in every month and therefore, lose all of that money, be in debt, and have no “happiness” whatsoever.

This is golden information that not too many people are truly aware of it! To me, true happiness does not involve money, and can’t buy it! True happiness comes from within.
